I really wanted to like this album. I really did. But after several failed attempts at trying to find something good about this so called "masterpiece of modern thrash metal", I came up with one solid conclusion. Auprostut Juddho sucks. Big time.

Basically, this is an album laid on the foundation of elements borrowed from mainstream thrash and post-thrash groove. Influences from a lot of other genres are also present. But this amalgam, rather than providing a progressive touch to the band's music, gives the impression that the band does not know what they are doing. They've got shredding solos, high vocal notes, fast drumming, but nothing seems to be in place.

The songs are mediocre to say the least, consisting of some good parts, but mostly bad parts. Tracks like Shesh Shimana and Agnisnan, although having kickass opening segments, ended up real bad. And Tracks such as Hangor and Slogan seemed to me like shameless crowd pleasers.

I don't know much about guitars so I am going to avoid judging the riffwork. But I know drums, and let me tell you, Samiul was awful to hear. No creativity, no technicality, no skills at show; his drumming was the biggest contribution to my deprecation of this album. And guess what, the drums were really high in the mix. Great production, I must say.

This album is a half-assed effort by a band who are either immature in their comprehension of metal or are intent in sounding more appealing to a wider audience. I am a diehard thrash fan and it hurts my dignity when I see former akon fans hailing this album as a "thrash metal masterpiece" or " Da real shitzz". I guess I should credit powersurge for popularizing metal in Bangladesh, but if Auprostut Juddho is the framework upon which the metal scene is to develop in this country.......then god help us all......
